Murals from Laxmi Mandir a dedication on International Women’s Day
-RohitKumar Parmar
These are two mural/ paintings (of the many) from Laxmi Mandir, Orchha, Madhya Pradesh, India where a lady is assisted by a sakhee (maid) as she's getting ready. Even though the two paintings look similar, there are differences that could as well make it to a `spot the difference’ contest. However, the two paintings have been accidentally captured, and it is only at the writing stage, this author discovered that these were two separate paintings. The artist has detailed the dress design in detail, one can even see the pleats of the saree/dress of the lady and the sakhee, anklets and other jewellery. The distinctly beautiful lady on a stool is being assisted by the sakhee with what appears to be a mirror, to adorne herself.
